Corporate deals of recent significance

• Advised Asia Ceramics Holdings plc on its successful listing on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange.
• Advised Investment Services UK Limited on the establishment of Amrah Global Opportunities Fund Limited, an open-ended expert fund company based in Jersey. The aim of the new fund is to provide enhanced returns through access to a portfolio of fixed income securities principally throughout the emerging markets.
• Carey Olsen advised a new Jersey fund, GCP Infrastructure Investments Limited, on its listing on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. The initial listing of the fund has raised £40 million.
• Lawyers from Carey Olsen advised West China Cement Limited, a leading cement producer in the Shaanxi province of China, on its successful global offering and listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx). WCC is the first Chinese business held through a Jersey company to list on the HKEx.
• Carey Olsen advised Masawara plc, a Jersey incorporated company focused on acquiring interests in companies and projects based in Zimbabwe, on its listing on AIM. The listing raised US$25 million with Masawara's market capitalisation reaching US$80 million on admission.
• Carey Olsen advised Jersey Trust Company on its acquisition of specialist wealth management firm Caversham Fiduciary Services.
• Carey Olsen advised Bellzone Mining plc, a Jersey registered holding company for a group of companies with large scale iron ore deposits and exploration assets in Guinea, on its listing on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange and accompanying fundraising.
• Advised Intermediate Capital Group, a leading independent investor and fund manager, in acquiring a significant stake in legal services firm CPA Global through a Jersey scheme of arrangement, investing alongside the company's senior management team and the founding shareholders.
• Acting for Société Générale as arrangers of a facility to a Jersey SPV for the acquisition of a portfolio of first quality London office property. Also acting as arrangers of a second, contemporaneous, facility to another Jersey SPV for a second portfolio of first quality London office property.
• A Carey Olsen pan-island, cross practice team headed by Jersey partner Mike Jeffrey, acted for Sandpiper in the sale of five supermarkets to Waitrose– three in Jersey and two in Guernsey. The deal is one of the biggest retail acquisition deals in recent years.
