Carey Olsen up for best offshore law firm at Asia Legal Awards 2019
Carey Olsen has been shortlisted for best offshore law firm at the Asia Legal Awards 2019.
Hosted by The Asian Lawyer, in association with The American Lawyer, China Law & Practice and Legal Week, the awards are billed as Asia's most renowned ceremony for the legal elite and aim to honor the best work being carried out in the region.
Carey Olsen has had a presence in Asia since launching its Singapore office in 2015, which was then followed by the opening of a Hong Kong office in 2016. The Singapore office, which is led by partner Anthony McKenzie, advises on banking and finance matters, corporate and commercial work, including M&A and capital markets, as well as investment funds and trusts. The Hong Kong office, which is led by partner Michael Makridakis, has a focus on offshore dispute resolution and insolvency, advising clients and referrers on the full spectrum of contentious, semi-contentious and advisory offshore work.
Making the shortlist at the Asia Legal Awards marks the third time in the past six months that Carey Olsen's Asia offices have gained such recognition, having previously been shortlisted for offshore firm of the year at the 2018 China Law & Practice Awards and best international firm at the 2018 China Offshore Awards. In addition, Carey Olsen was also shortlisted for restructuring deal of the year at the IFLA Asia Awards 2018.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel in Hong Kong on Thursday 21 March.
