Carey Olsen hosts gathering of power women in Guernsey

With the inclusion of more than 30 Guernsey business women on the Citywealth IFC Power Women Top 200, Carey Olsen hosted a networking event to celebrate those on the list.

The informal event was hosted at the Crown Club to honour those locally who have been recognised by Citywealth as leading and influential women in government, private wealth, private client advice and philanthropy on the island.

Six Carey Olsen lawyers were listed including Guernsey partners Natasha Kapp, Karen Le Cras and Elaine Gray and senior associate Alison MacKrill. Jersey partner Siobhan Riley and senior associate Sharon Mungall from the British Virgin Islands office were also included on the list.

Compiled by the finance sector networking and publishing group, the Citywealth list celebrates powerful women from diverse backgrounds and fields and provides insight into their thoughts on business excellence, role models and on giving back to their communities. The research also found that they share collective qualities of charisma, integrity and innovation and that their management style is motivational, results-orientated and collaborative, which resonates with the modern workforce.

The Top 200 is compiled after extensive research, recommendations and testimonials from leading figures in the financial services industry with the objective of championing women in the wealth sector and highlighting female leaders.

Partner Karen Le Cras said: "The inclusion of so many Guernsey women business leaders is a great endorsement for the island.

"It was a good opportunity to get everyone together to celebrate the achievement and we hope that it becomes an annual fixture.”
