Carey Olsen partners with the Association of Real Estate Funds for 'Fund Life Cycle Series'

Carey Olsen has been confirmed as the sole sponsor of the Association of Real Estate Funds' (AREF) FutureGen Back to Basics 'Fund Life Cycle Series' of events.

The series, which is aimed at staff within the first 10 years of their careers at AREF member and investor firms, gets underway on Thursday 28 February with a training session at the Cass Business School in London on the basics of fund formation, with Carey Olsen corporate partner Andrew Boyce as one of the speakers.

The session will be co-presented with CMS partner Darren Stolzenberg, and together he and Andrew will detail current fund structures available, regulation of funds including the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive and the potential effects of Brexit, regulated and unregulated funds, and fund jurisdictions. The interactive session will also explore the process of a product development team while creating a new fund.

Andrew said: "Carey Olsen is delighted to be sponsoring the AREF FutureGen Back to Basics 'Fund Life Cycle Series'. The events are a fantastic initiative and we're pleased to be playing a part in helping to develop the knowledge of the association's young and upcoming members who are also the next generation of industry practitioners."

The second and third events in the series will take place later in the year and look at fund structures and tax, and the launching of a fund and its deployment.
