INSOL International attracts global audience to Channel Islands annual event
The fourth annual insolvency event in the Channel Islands, organised by industry body INSOL International and the Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Experts (ARIES), is another sell out.
Insolvency practitioners from across the globe will be coming to Guernsey for the full day conference on Wednesday 13th September at Duke of Richmond Hotel to hear a range of topics such as crypto-currencies and the rise of virtual insolvency, and the implications of Brexit on the insolvency industry, as well as looking at 20 years of cell companies, which originated in Guernsey in 1997.
The Keynote address on Digital Commerce and the 21st Century Finance Industry will be given by Mr Daniel Broby, the Director of the Centre for Financial Regulation and Innovation at the University of Strathclyde. Mr Broby is a senior lecturer at the university, as well as being a former senior executive in the Fund Management Industry.
Other visiting speakers include, Justice Brian McGovern from the High Court of Dublin, Justice Ramesh Kannan from the Supreme Court of Singapore, Raquel Agnello QC of Erskine Chambers, Catherine Burton of DLA Piper, Claude Brown of Reed Smith, all from London, Nico Tollenaar of RESOR NV in Amsterdam and Jane Marshall of McCann Fitzgerald in Dublin.
Jeremy Garrood, partner of Carey Olsen, and a member of the INSOL event organising committee, said "The INSOL International Conference in the Channel Islands has become a very important date in the insolvency business calendar. INSOL International is a world-wide federation of national associations for accountants and lawyers who specialise in restructuring and insolvency. There are currently over 40 Member Associations world-wide with over 10,000 professionals participating as Members of INSOL International.
