Legal directory recognition for Carey Olsen's Singapore and Hong Kong offices
Carey Olsen's Singapore and Hong Kong offices are featured once again in the latest edition of Chambers Asia-Pacific.
The firm's Asia offering, which is led by partners Anthony McKenzie and James Noble in Singapore and Michael Padarin, Jeremy Lightfoot and James Webb in Hong Kong, has seen its ranking improve within the offshore section of the legal directory's 2021 edition. Industry sources praised Carey Olsen's 'pragmatic and problem-solving approach and swiftness' as well as the firm's 'ability to deal with the extensive and complex factual matrix of the subject matter and transform that into relevant points'.
In addition, Carey Olsen Singapore managing partner Anthony McKenzie is ranked among the leading individuals in the offshore category for corporate & finance, including investment funds, with market commentators describing him as an 'all-round brilliant commercial lawyer' and someone whose 'strengths lie with his commerciality, responsiveness and, above all, his thoughtfulness from the client's perspective.'
Anthony said: "Chambers Asia-Pacific is a highly respected publication and the positive coverage we have received across the firm in this year's directory is, as always, the result of the continued commitment and hard work of all our staff and their ability to deliver excellent client service."
In the past year, Carey Olsen has significantly expanded its footprint in Asia with a notable increase in headcount across both the firm's Hong Kong and Singapore offices where it offers Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Channel Islands legal advice. It has also been shortlisted for a series of industry awards in the region, which includes its success at the 2020 China Business Law Awards in April where it was named international firm of the year for restructuring and insolvency.
