Promotion sees Carey Olsen add another dispute resolution and litigation partner in the Cayman Islands

Carey Olsen has promoted Peter Sherwood of its Cayman Islands office into the partnership.

Peter, who is a member of the dispute resolution and litigation team, has particular expertise in cross-border insolvency and restructuring, but his broad practice also encompasses investment fund litigation, shareholder disputes and other commercial litigation. Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2015, he worked for leading international firms in London and Sydney.

Peter's promotion brings the total number of partners based in Carey Olsen's Cayman Islands office to eight.

Jan Golaszewski, head of the dispute resolution and litigation team in the Cayman Islands, said: "Peter is very deserving of his promotion. He has made a valuable contribution to the Cayman Islands team since joining us in 2015 and is someone who is extremely well-regarded by our clients. His promotion to partner ensures he will play an important part in the ongoing development of our ever-growing practice area as well as the depth and quality of service we provide."

Commenting on his promotion, Peter added: "I am delighted to be joining the partnership of Carey Olsen. I look forward to being part of the firm's continued growth and success in my new role."
