Senior hire for Carey Olsen's Cayman Islands trusts and private wealth team
Carey Olsen has added to its trusts and private wealth practice in the Cayman Islands with the appointment of counsel Chris Duncan.
Prior to joining Carey Olsen, Chris had been with another offshore firm for the past seven years, working in both its litigation and international trusts and private client teams. A specialist in both contentious and non-contentious trusts and private client matters, Chris has been recognised as a leading private client lawyer in both the UK and Guernsey editions of eprivateclient's 'Top 35 Under 35' initiative for the past two years.
His extensive experience also includes a background in commercial litigation, where he has acted on a range of financial services litigation, regulatory matters and investigations centred on the exchange of tax information in recent years.
Partner Bernadette Carey, head of the trusts and private wealth practice in the Cayman Islands, said: "Our trusts and private wealth client base in the Cayman Islands continues to grow and Chris' appointment is testament to that fact. He brings with him a fabulous reputation in the offshore legal market and we're delighted that he is now part of our ever-growing Cayman Islands team."
A registered Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP), holding the full TEP designation, Chris was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2008 and as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2019.
