St Paul's U14s football squad enjoy productive Scottish tour, with support from Carey Olsen
The Carey Olsen-sponsored St Paul's U14s football squad has returned unbeaten from a two-match tour of Scotland.
The youth side enjoyed victories over Greenock Morton (4-3) and Queen's Park (8-4) to cap a great season for the team, which also defeated a South Liverpool team on a recent visit to Jersey.
In addition to games against Scottish opposition, the team and their coaches took part in tailored training sessions at Rangers F.C.'s state-of-the-art training centre at Murray Park. These included a sports science recovery session, a nutrition presentation and video analysis of their play. They also had tours of Hampden Park, Scotland's national stadium, and Ibrox, the home of Rangers F.C.
Paddy O'Toole, St Paul's U14s team manager and coach said: "It was a fantastic trip away for the boys; the Rangers coaches and staff were brilliant. Everything they did to give the team the academy experience was spot on and we had some really good performances in both games. James Murphy, Patrick O'Toole and Luke Coutanche were excellent and there were some amazing goals scored too by the likes of Patrick and Luke too. We have a lot of talent in the island and it's great to show it off on these trips away."
Carey Olsen partner Robin Smith said: "We are pleased to continue our support of St Paul's FC and to help their under U14 side play against off-island opposition, something that will aid their development as individual players and as a team. The tour went extremely well and we continue to admire the side for their dedication and the strong team spirit they display."
