Michael Makridakis


Michael Makridakis is the head of our dispute resolution & insolvency practice in Hong Kong. 

He has a broad range of experience in the offshore and investment fund context with an emphasis on representing distressed investment funds and their directors, managers, service providers, investors and creditors. 

Michael has particular expertise in contentious insolvency cases and is an experienced commercial litigator and advocate.


Michael has practised Cayman Islands law since 2008 and was with Walkers and then Ogier in Cayman before joining the Carey Olsen partnership in 2013. He relocated to Hong Kong from the firm's Cayman office in 2016.

He was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, Australia, in 2001 where he worked for top-tier firms Clayton Utz and King & Wood Mallesons.

Michael has specialised in litigation and insolvency law since his admission.
