Tom is a senior associate in Carey Olsen's Dispute Resolution and Litigation team in the Cayman Islands. He acts for companies, their boards, office holders and investors.

His work is in commercial, shareholder and governance disputes, winding up and restructuring proceedings, asset recovery, and claims involving investment funds and exempted limited partnerships. He advises on the Cayman elements of proceedings brought in other jurisdictions, and on regulatory and contentious matters involving digital assets.

Tom appears in the Financial Services Division of the Grand Court and the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal, and has appeared before the High Court and Court of Appeal of New Zealand.

Career

Tom obtained an LLB (First Class Honours) from Victoria University of Wellington and also holds a Bachelor of Arts. He is admitted as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands and as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (non-practising).

Before joining Carey Olsen in 2022, Tom practised as a litigator and criminal prosecutor in New Zealand. His work included investigations and proceedings involving allegations of fraud, financial misconduct and white-collar crime.
