Financial Controller (VA564)

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller, to be responsible for the consistent, accurate and timely reporting of financial information and the day to day operational management for Carey Olsen Channel Islands and UK entities.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
· Preparation of annual financial statements for all entities in the group and liaise with auditors as required
· Manage the preparation of tax computations in conjunction with tax advisors in Jersey, Guernsey, London, Hong Kong and Singapore. Developing an understanding of the local reporting requirements and rules in each jurisdiction and working with advisors on any potential issues and/or changes to legislation and reporting requirements
· Oversight of client monies policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local reporting requirements
· Responsibility for bank and balance sheet reconciliations, liaising with the group functions & jurisdictional finance teams as required
· Responsibility for maintaining the day to day integrity of ledgers including the month end close process
· Be responsible for other statutory reporting, including VAT, GST and other tax returns
· Review & processing payroll payments, working with our in-house payroll team on any queries
· Act as one of the authorised signatories for payments
· Participating or leading system, operational or process changes as required
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with experience in a similar role in a law firm or professional services organisation, along with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (notably Excel) and experience in 3E.
