We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing and Business Development Manager in our Cayman office. The post holder will support the growth of our Cayman corporate practice, with particular focus on the US and Latin America markets, by developing and implementing a suite of agreed marketing and business development plans and initiatives.
Principal duties will include:
Marketing and Business Development
- Support the Associate Director in the creation of corporate marketing and business development plans and budgets for relevant practice areas and teams
- Manage and drive preparation of business development activities such as pitches, proposals, capability statements or other client presentation materials, working closely with relevant Legal partners
- Contribute to the annual practice area M&BD budgeting process
- Track spend v budget for relevant practice area M&BD budgets
Events
- Research, plan, organise and implement global practice area industry and client events and seminars, liaising with corporate partners in Bermuda and BVI as necessary
- Develop targeted guest lists for client events or contact strategies to promote the awareness of CO attendance at industry conferences
- Work with CO delegates in organising client meetings / target client interactions at events and work with them on follow-ups
- Liaise with third party suppliers, providers and industry organisations to secure sponsorship agreements and event services
- Attend / provide front of house support at events as required
- Promote relevant events on the website and social media platforms
- Monitor event costs to remain within budget and lead on post-event ROI analysis
- Organise on-island CSR events and client hospitality for the wider Cayman Islands office
BD Trips
- Working with the wider M&BD team as necessary, help plan and support on follows ups from BD trips into North America and Latin America
Legal Directories & Awards
- Create and submit legal directories for identified corporate practice areas, using the firm's standard template
Team and collaboration
- Manage priorities to ensure efficient delivery of marketing and business development plans and initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and address overarching Business Development needs and challenges across the Firm, leveraging expertise and insights to drive solutions that maximise client satisfaction and engagement
- Collaborate with the wider marketing team as required to assist brand campaigns and internal/external communications
Experience and Professional Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a marketing or business development role within the legal industry / professional services
- Experience organising on and off-island events
- Previous knowledge and use of CRM systems essential
- Bachelor's degree required
- CIM or similar industry qualification preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with the partnership and business services
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively interact with peers and influence internal clients including senior stakeholders
- Enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and activities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong team player
