Bonds Clerk (VA791)

We have an opportunity for a Bonds Clerk to join our Guernsey office. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the legal and administrative process of property transactions in line with Guernsey property law, supporting the smooth completion of property purchases and lending arrangements for leading banks and private clients.
You will work closely with conveyancing clerks, client banks, borrowers, surveyors and external brokers, contributing to timely and compliant transactions while continuing to develop your expertise in local property law and banking processes.
Principal duties:
Property Transactions and Administration
- Prepare and process bonds secured over Guernsey and Alderney real estate in line with legal requirements
- Progress transactions efficiently through to completion, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Attend the Greffe to register court documentation where required
Research and Due Diligence
- Conduct property searches and review title information, valuation reports, facility letters and planning applications using systems such as Digimap and Cadastre
- Analyse and interpret documentation to support accurate transaction processing
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare reports on title and guarantor documentation for lenders
- Produce clear, accurate and compliant legal documentation to support lending decisions
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with banks, conveyancers, surveyors, clients and brokers to ensure clear communication and smooth progression of matters
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with client banks through a professional and responsive approach
Experience
- Experience within a property, legal or financial services environment would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Guernsey property law is desirable but not essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
