Carey Olsen is looking for a Legal Secretary to join the Litigation team in our Bermuda office. You will work as part of a team of secretaries to provide secretarial and administrative support to a group of designated fee earners allowing for fee earners' time to be used more efficiently on client related work.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • General administrative and secretarial support, including but not limited to assisting with file management as required
  • Preparation of general correspondence, legal documents and bills under the supervision of fee earners
  • Assisting with conflict checks and file opening procedures
  • Answering telephones and email messages
  • Arranging meetings and diary management
  • Maintaining physical and electronic files as well as client databases
  • Organizing all logistics relating to travel plans, including drafting marketing and business development reports

The ideal candidates should have:

  • A minimum of five years' recent experience in a senior secretarial role, including three years of recent experience in a secretarial role within a litigation team at a law firm
  • Recent and demonstrable experience with court procedures
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent verbal, written and proofreading skills and prior experience in preparing complex and properly formatted documents
  • Team oriented with a flexible approach to assisting colleagues in a multi-team working environment
