Financial Controller - Fixed Term Contract (VA839)

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller in our Jersey office on a six month fixed term contract basis.

The post holder will manage a team and support the finance function of Carey Olsen and its associated businesses.

Principal duties include:

• Preparation of annual financial statements for all entities in the group and liaise with auditors as required
• Manage the preparation of tax computations in conjunction with tax advisors in Jersey, Guernsey, London, Hong Kong and Singapore
• Develop an understanding of the local reporting requirements and rules in each jurisdiction and working with advisors on any potential issues and/or changes to legislation and reporting requirements
• Oversight of client monies policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local reporting requirements
• Responsibility for bank and balance sheet reconciliations, liaising with the group functions & jurisdictional finance teams as required
• Responsibility for maintaining the day to day integrity of ledgers including the month end close process
• Be responsible for other statutory reporting, including VAT, GST and other tax returns
• Review & process payroll payments, working with our in-house payroll team on any queries
• Act as one of the authorised signatories for payments
• Participate or lead on system, operational or process changes as required

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with post qualification experience
• ​Have experience of tax reporting including tax computation preparation, WHT calculations and disclosures, GST and VAT analysis and reporting
• Have strong leadership, management and influencing skills
