VIRTUAL EVENT: Carey Olsen speaker at 2020 Economic Crime & Compliance eCPD Seminar Series

Carey Olsen partner William Grace will be addressing "Tackling higher risk business" during a webinar that forms part of the 2020 Economic Crime & Compliance eCPD Seminar Series run by BPP CI.

The higher risk business model was developed originally by William Grace for Iranian sanctions advice, he has refined it over the years and uses it for a variety of his bespoke higher risk engagements in order to help clients make sound decisions and document decision-making processes to a standard that will satisfy later scrutiny by regulators.

Examples of current use extend from sanctions, through various higher risk take-on scenarios to portfolio company acquisitions for funds. In a practical discussion he will demonstrate how the model is suitable for use in a broad range of business decisions and in fact simply reflects a rational approach to thinking and decision taking in regulated business. The model has been significantly refreshed, ready for the challenges of 2021 and he will demonstrate its applicability across any jurisdiction with a graphic example from practice.

The 2020 Economic Crime & Compliance eCPD Seminar Series focuses on the current trends in financial crime, as well as looking at the future of compliance within the financial services industry. Covering a wide spectrum of topics within the financial crime prevention landscape, this series of webinars provides invaluable updates and insights to industry practitioners towards the end of what has been a challenging year, on a global scale.
