Sarah-Jane is a senior associate in Carey Olsen's trusts and private wealth team, based in the Guernsey office. She acts for individuals, trustees, executors and family offices on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious private client matters. Sarah-Jane was formerly based in Carey Olsen's Cayman Islands office.

Sarah-Jane has advised on numerous trust disputes, including challenges to the validity of trusts, variations of trusts, the removal of trustees, setting aside trustee decisions, advising fiduciaries and other power holders on decision-making in contentious circumstances, and advising trustees in relation to divorce proceedings. Her practice also includes providing guidance on the establishment, reorganisation, administration and termination of complex wealth planning structures. Sarah-Jane frequently advises individuals on succession and estate planning.

Career

Sarah-Jane was previously an associate in the private client department of Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP) in London, where she specialised in UK tax and estate planning. In 2019, she moved to the trusts practice at another offshore law firm in Guernsey. She subsequently spent time working in-house at HSBC's Channel Islands trust company. Sarah-Jane joined Carey Olsen in 2022.

Sarah-Jane is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She regularly contributes articles to professional publications and co-authored the Cayman Islands chapter of Crypto Assets in Trusts and Foundations.
