Carey Olsen advises Maxfield Capital on sale of SimplyCook to Nestlé

Carey Olsen has advised long-standing client Maxfield Capital on the sale of portfolio company SimplyCook, the UK-based recipe kit business, to Nestlé.

Founded in 2014, SimplyCook offers pre-portioned blends of authentic flavours combined with easy-to-follow recipes, designed to help consumers cook a range of dishes. Since its launch SimplyCook claims to have helped UK households cook more than 20 million recipes.

Maxfield Capital has been an investor in the company since its 2017 equity funding round.

Carey Olsen London partner Jasmine Amaria, who advised Maxfield Capital on the sale of SimplyCook, said: "Carey Olsen is delighted to have supported long-standing Cayman Islands client Maxfield Capital on its successful exit from SimplyCook as part of its acquisition by Nestlé. Maxfield Capital was one of the early supporters of the brand, helping the business on its upward growth trajectory over the past few years."

As part of the acquisition, SimplyCook will continue to be led by its founding team from its base in London with the support of Nestlé's expertise and operations.
