Carey Olsen partners discuss transparency on latest episode of Stephenson Harwood's private wealth podcast

Carey Olsen trusts and private wealth partners Keith Robinson and Bernadette Carey have appeared on the latest episode of 'CAPITAL talk - private wealth in a podcast' to discuss recent developments around transparency and privacy in the financial services industry.

Hosted by James Quarmby, partner and head of private wealth at Stephenson Harwood, the episode looks at the recent commitment given by eight British Overseas Territories to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to introduce publicly accessible registers detailing who owns the companies in their jurisdictions. Included among those eight jurisdictions are Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

Following on from that news, Keith and Bernadette, as the respective heads of Carey Olsen's trusts and private wealth teams in Bermuda and Cayman, were invited to appear on the Stephenson Harwood  podcast to share their reaction to the news. They discussed what the commitment by a number of Overseas Territories (including Bermuda and Cayman) actually means in practice and the future of transparency and privacy measures across the offshore world and more generally.

The episode British Overseas Territories adopt public ownership registers – is this the end of privacy as we know it? is available to listen to in full on the Stephenson Harwood website as well as via free subscription on iTunes to the 'CAPITAL talk - private wealth in a podcast' series, where you can also listen to previous episodes.
