Carey Olsen advises blockchain security firm CertiK on latest funding rounds

Lawyers from Carey Olsen's corporate team in the Cayman Islands have advised blockchain security firm CertiK on the raising of US$24 million in its latest funding round.

The Series B+ funding round, which secured backing from Tiger Global and GL Ventures, follows the Series B funding round Carey Olsen also advised on in July, which raised US$37 million and was co-led by Coatue Management, Coinbase Ventures and Shunwei Capital. It means CertiK has now raised US$61 million in little over a month and more than US$70 million since inception.

The funding will enable CertiK to expand its product and security capabilities for the blockchain industry and complements the recent launch of Skynet Premium, the industry's first active-monitoring platform which allows for real-time alerts on live smart contracts that have been deployed.

The Carey Olsen team advising CertiK on the Cayman law aspects of the latest set of funding rounds comprised partner Nick Bullmore and counsel Dylan Wiltermuth.

Nick said: "We're delighted to have supported CertiK on its recent funding rounds. The company is at the forefront of advancing security of blockchain technologies, and the success of its recent fundraising efforts is testament to its ever-increasing reputation."

Since its launch in 2018, CertiK has collectively served over 1,300 enterprise clients, protected more than US$90 billion worth of digital assets, and detected over 23,000 vulnerabilities in blockchain code.
