Carey Olsen Hong Kong counsel Dhanshuklal Vekaria will be a panellist at the INSOL International Mumbai Seminar, taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai on 8 February 2025.
Dhanshuklal will be speaking on the panel "India's Cross-Border Dilemma: Exploring the UNCITRAL Model Law and Asset Recovery Mechanisms".
As India continues to contemplate the adoption of the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency, this session will provide a comparative analysis between a country that has implemented the law and one that has not, highlighting the advantages and challenges of adoption. The discussion will assess the broader impacts on inward investment and legal harmonisation, while placing a strong emphasis on the enhanced tools for asset tracing and recovery that the Model Law could offer.
