We are seeking a Junior Compliance Analyst to join the Compliance team based in our Cayman office.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting with the administration of the client take-on process and to provide support and assistance to the Partners and Fee Earners for the law firm in meeting their obligations under the Cayman Islands AML / CFT legislation
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking open-source searches via independent intelligence databases for all clients and taking appropriate actions driven by the search results in line with Carey Olsen policies and procedures
- Updating the data management systems accurately to allow for ongoing sanctions screening
- Ensuring that the electronic filing system is maintained correctly including maintaining the central database for the storing of CDD
- Assisting with the review of what Due Diligence is required at client onboarding to satisfy Carey Olsen's regulatory obligations as outlined within Carey Olsen's policies and procedures
- Assisting with the review of Due Diligence already held to ensure that the Due Diligence is up to date and relevant
- Maintaining and enhancing working relationship with the Partners and Fee Earners and other departments through regular and effective communication across all available means, face to face, telephone, and email
- Providing support to the more senior members of the Compliance team, as required
Candidates will have:
- Excellent academic credentials and / or experience of working in a professional services environment
- A University degree is desired
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Word
- A strong desire to grow and develop a deeper understanding of the compliance field is essential
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential
This is a full time role, the successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week with 60 minutes for lunch.
