We have an exciting opportunity for a Conveyancer to manage the administrative and legal process of buying and selling property in compliance with Guernsey property law.
Key duties and Principles:
- Preparation and processing of bonds to be secured over Guernsey and Alderney realty for all major high street banks and private lending institutions
- Conducting property searches, review and research of property title, valuation reports, facility letters, planning applications and utilisation of Digimap and Cadastre records
- Preparation of reports on title and guarantor documentation
- Referring title issues to client banks and advising on same
- Communicating with conveyancing clerks, client banks, bank's customers, surveyors and external brokers
- Ensuring timely completion of transactions and that deadlines are achieved
- Providing a professional outstanding service, building and maintaining strong working relationships with our client banks
- Reviewing priority/release requests on behalf of our client banks and advising on same
- Attendance in the Contracts Court with our client bank's customers and representing our client banks by Power of Attorney to grant priorities and releases on their behalf
- Attendance at the Greffe for registration of court documentation
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years' experience in some or all of the above duties is preferred
- Strong organisational, multitasking abilities and prioritisation of workload
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
