Bethany Lightfoot

Bethany Lightfoot is a conveyancer in Carey Olsen’s Guernsey property team, acting on residential and bond matters. Her work includes property purchases and sales for private clients and property security work.

She manages transactions and works closely with clients, estate agents, advocates and other advisers to progress matters efficiently and practically.

Bethany joined Carey Olsen in 2026, having previously worked at another local law firm. She worked as a paralegal in the property team and progressed as a trainee solicitor, gaining experience in residential conveyancing and property finance. During this time, she worked across all stages of Guernsey property transactions, from title review and drafting through to completion and post‑completion formalities, and regularly supported high‑value residential matters.

Prior to joining private practice, Bethany gained in‑house legal experience at a wealth management and trust firm, where she assisted legal counsel with the drafting of trust instruments and corporate records, and undertook legal research in support of contentious matters.

Bethany is currently undertaking the SQE qualification. She has completed the SQE 1, and is studying towards the SQE 2.
