Jonathan is an associate in Carey Olsen's dispute resolution and litigation practice based in London.

Jonathan assists with a broad range of civil and commercial disputes, including all aspects of offshore commercial and trust litigation with a specific focus on arbitration, enforcement and insolvency issues, including out of court administrative and regulatory disputes.

He also assists the private wealth practice of Carey Olsen Bermuda and is interested in various non-contentious trust and estate planning matters. Jonathan is registered with the Bermuda branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) as an Affiliate Member and is undertaking the necessary courses to become a Full Member. He is also a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association of Bermuda (RISA Bermuda) and the Contentious Trusts Associates (ConTrA) network.

Career

Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2022, Jonathan completed a training contract with Kennedys Law LLP in London where he gained experience in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters including international arbitrations, commercial contracts, insolvencies, bankruptcies, professional negligence, property damage, trust litigation, fraud, personal injury, casualty coverage and (re)insurance. Jonathan completed a secondment with Baker McKenzie's London Dispute Resolution team in 2023.

He was admitted to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales and as a barrister and attorney in Bermuda in 2022. He was also admitted as a solicitor in the British Virgin Islands in 2023.

Jonathan studied political science and economics at McGill University, graduating with Honours, before studying law at The University of Edinburgh, graduating with Merit. He was awarded a Distinction for The University of Law's Accelerated LPC LL.M Business program in 2019. In 2023, Jonathan was awarded a Distinction in STEP's 'Certificate in International Trust Management' course.
