Mukudi is an associate in the trusts and private wealth team at Carey Olsen and specialises in pensions.

He works on advising local and international corporates and trustee clients on all aspects of public and private pensions, including scheme mergers, closures to accrual, bulk transfers to master trust schemes and scheme amendments, in addition to project work including risk transfers (i.e., buy-ins, buy-outs and wind ups) and liability management exercises.

Mukudi divides his working weeks between the firm's Jersey and Guernsey offices.

Career

Mukudi studied Law at the University of Manchester and obtained his Legal Practice Course qualification (with Distinction) from the University of Law in 2017. He completed his training contact at an international law firm in London and specialised in pensions in 2021.

Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2026, Mukudi worked in the highly-rated pensions teams of two other reputable law firms in their London and Glasgow offices.

Relevant experience

  • Worked as a team of two with a Partner on a £100m Buy-in (Trustee-side) with Residual Risks Cover. Reviewed the terms of the Insurer's contract against the team's standard position on various sections of the contract such as: (i) Warranties/Indemnities; (ii) Data Protection; and (iii) Material Change thresholds.
  • Worked as a team of two with a Partner providing specialist pensions advice to a Company on the requirements to validly introduce salary sacrifice into its pension scheme for auto enrolment purposes.
  • Worked as a team of two with a Partner providing specialist pensions advice to a Company on the benefits and drawbacks of contractual enrolment vis-à-vis statutory auto enrolment.
  • Worked as a team of three with a Partner and a Senior Associate providing specialist pensions advice to the sponsor of a reputable master trust in an intra-group bulk transfer of a Bank's DC assets to its master trust – we advised the Sponsor of the Master Trust on: (i) the onboarding documents (ie the participation documentation for the creation of the new employer section in the master trust); and (ii) the documentation to effect the transfer of the Bank's DC assets to the master trust (ie Deed of Bulk Transfer, Data Sharing Agreement, and Pre-Funding Agreement).
