Russell heads up the trusts and private wealth department in Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office advising on both contentious and non-contentious trust matters. He also advises private clients on succession and estate planning.
Russell is a member of ACTAPS, STEP and the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
He was named "Lawyer of the Year - Channel Islands, Isle of Man" in 2019 in the Citywealth IFC awards. He also features as one of the world’s top 25 pre-eminent trusts and estates legal practitioners as part of the ‘Best of the Best’ Expert Guide each year since 2011. Legal Week recognise Russell as a 'Global Elite' individual from the private client community.
Russell is the managing partner of the firm's Guernsey office and is also a Notary Public. Russell has been recognised in Legal Week's Private Client Global Elite listings 2018.
Russell advises on Guernsey, Alderney and Sark law.
Russell was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales before returning to Guernsey where he qualified as an advocate in 1997. He was made partner in 2001. Russell became a Notary Public in 2006.
