Carey Olsen Bermuda partner Steven Rees Davies recently spoke on Global Legal Group's panel "Tokenisation of Real-World Assets: Legal Foundations and Commercial Risk" at the Global Blockchain & Crypto Symposium 2026, alongside chair Liz Towler and fellow panellists Charles Kerrigan from CMS and Jonathan Gilmour from Travers Smith LLP.
Drawing on Bermuda's position as a leading digital assets jurisdiction, Steven explored the legal and regulatory foundations required to support the growth of tokenised markets, the importance of focusing on the underlying technology rather than the token itself, and the lessons that can be learned from established digital asset frameworks as the UK looks to introduce and develop its own regime.
