Carey Olsen advises on sale of Humboldt Re to Marco Capital
Carey Olsen's corporate team in Guernsey has acted as lead counsel to Humboldt Re Limited on its sale to Marco Capital, a European property and casualty insurance run-off group.
The purchase of the Guernsey-based reinsurance company, which was established in 2015, represents Marco Capital's third such acquisition within nine months.
Carey Olsen acted as lead counsel throughout all stages of the transaction, with support including drafting and negotiating all sale documentation, advising on all regulatory and data privacy aspects, escrow arrangements and completion. The team was led by corporate partners Christopher Anderson and Tony Lane, with assistance from senior associates James Cooke and Arya Hashemi and associate Daniel Long.
