Carey Olsen boosts its Guernsey trusts and private wealth practice with senior hire

Carey Olsen has appointed Joanna Caen as a new counsel in the global offshore firm's trusts and private wealth practice.

Joanna will be joining the firm's Guernsey office and brings a depth of knowledge in both onshore and offshore corporate and private trusts and foundation structures. She has extensive experience of working in Asia, and previously held the position of Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Carey Olsen, Joanna was a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills where she led the firm's private wealth practice in China. Joanna has dedicated her career to helping clients to protect and grow their assets, including expertise in pre-IPO planning, pension and retirement planning and philanthropy and dispute resolution.

In her most recent role, Joanna was managing director of the Hong Kong office of Praxis IFM (now Praxis), specialising in private client, corporate and related services.
