Carey Olsen retains best offshore law firm title at WealthBriefing European Awards

Carey Olsen has been named best offshore law firm for the second successive year at the annual WealthBriefing European Awards.

Showcasing the leaders in European wealth management, the awards, which are now in their ninth year, have been designed to recognise outstanding organisations grouped by specialism and geography which the panel of independent judges deemed to have 'demonstrated innovation and excellence during the last year'.

In naming Carey Olsen as offshore winners for 2021, judges said they were 'attracted by the firm's size, scale and breadth of offering', while its 'submission was bristling with examples and case studies which made it an obvious choice in this category'.

Russell Clark, managing partner and head of the trusts and private wealth group in Guernsey, said: "Our global trusts and private wealth practice continues to go from strength to strength, both in terms of size and breadth of offering, something we're delighted to hear the judges themselves identified when choosing Carey Olsen as the best offshore law firm.

"Winning this award for the second successive year is testament to the hard work of our teams in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey and their commitment to excellence and delivering the highest level of service to our clients around the world."

ClearView Financial Media's CEO, and Publisher of WealthBriefing, Stephen Harris, added: "These awards were independently and expertly judged solely on the basis of entrants' submissions and their response to a number of specific questions, which were answered by focusing on the client experience rather than purely quantitative performance metrics. That is a unique, and I believe, compelling feature."

Carey Olsen has one of the largest trusts and private wealth teams in the offshore world with more than 50 partners and associates providing advice on the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey to local and international clients and their advisers.

This latest awards success for the firm's trusts and private wealth teams follows similar back-to-back success at the highly respected Chambers High Net Worth Awards where Carey Olsen was named offshore firm of the year in both 2019 and 2020.
