Carey Olsen wins China Business Law Award for dispute resolution

Carey Olsen has been recognised as a leading international firm for its dispute resolution (cross-border) practice at the China Business Law Awards 2021.

Among the most prestigious awards programmes in Asia for Chinese and international law firms, the China Business Law Awards are based on thousands of nominations received from Chinese and international legal professionals and other leading industry decision-makers. In determining the winners, China Business Law Journal's editorial team carefully considered nominations across a number of other factors, such as each firm's landmark deals, cases and other notable achievements over the past year.

This latest recognition for Carey Olsen's Hong Kong SAR and Singapore offices follows the firm winning two deal of the year awards from China Business Law Journal earlier this year for its involvement in Full Truck Alliance's US$1.7 billion share issue and its role in defending the majority founding shareholders of WeRide Inc. against a winding-up petition.

Commenting on the latest success, Carey Olsen partner James Noble, who leads the litigation, insolvency and restructuring practice in Asia, said: "To be named as a leading international firm for our dispute resolution expertise at the China Business Law Awards alongside some of the largest onshore firms is extremely rewarding.

"It recognises the strength and calibre of the firm's offshore offering in the region and the significant growth that Carey Olsen has experienced in both Singapore and Hong Kong over the past year. Indeed, our Singapore dispute resolution and litigation practice, which only launched at the end of 2019, has already grown to be the largest offshore litigation team in Singapore."

Carey Olsen has had a presence in Asia since launching its Singapore office in 2015, which was then followed by the opening of a Hong Kong office in 2016.
