Carey Olsen's Asia growth continues with new Bermuda offering in Hong Kong SAR

Carey Olsen has added Bermuda law capabilities to its Hong Kong SAR office with the relocation of Henry Tucker and Kyle Masters.

The arrival of Henry and Kyle, who were members of the dispute resolution and litigation practice at Carey Olsen Bermuda prior to heading to Hong Kong, means the Hong Kong office now boasts British Virgin Islands (BVI), Cayman Islands and Bermuda qualified lawyers on the ground.

Henry advises on all aspects of offshore commercial and trust litigation with a specific focus on arbitration, enforcement and insolvency issues. Praised for being 'client-centric in every aspect of his legal practice' in the most recent edition of Chambers Global, Henry has more than 10 years' experience before the Commercial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in Bermuda.

Kyle has extensive experience in regulatory and compliance law, internal and external risk mitigation, corporate governance and enforcement actions. He has also appeared before the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in Bermuda undertaking a wide variety of commercial and civil litigation.

Carey Olsen Bermuda managing partner Michael Hanson said: "Establishing a Bermuda offering in Hong Kong represents yet another important building block not only for Carey Olsen Bermuda but also the wider Carey Olsen group. We have witnessed and experienced significant interest in our Bermuda services from Hong Kong–based clients in the past year and are delighted to now be able to offer this capability going forward on the ground in Hong Kong.

"Similarly, it is pleasing as a firm that we are able to provide exciting opportunities like this to talented Bermudian lawyers such as Henry and Kyle as they continue to progress their own careers."

The ability to provide Bermuda legal advice in Hong Kong follows the launch in June of Carey Olsen's corporate practice in the jurisdiction with the appointment of Michael Padarin. Michael, who practises BVI and Cayman Islands law, specialises in the formation, operation and restructuring of private investment funds, primarily private equity and venture capital funds, and their related fund sponsor vehicles.

Commenting on the arrival of Henry and Kyle, Michael added: "They each bring with them a great amount of expertise and knowledge and we are delighted that Henry and Kyle are joining us at such an exciting time for Carey Olsen in Hong Kong. The size of our team continues to grow in response to client demand and the ability to now offer Bermuda law advice on the ground in Asia further strengthens our offering."
