Carey Olsen advises CoinMENA on groundbreaking US$240 million acquisition by Paribu
Carey Olsen’s corporate team has advised CoinMENA on its US$240 million acquisition by Turkey's leading digital asset platform Paribu, a transaction that marks Turkey's largest fintech acquisition to date and the country's first cross-border crypto deal.
Founded by Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam'an, CoinMENA is the largest local cryptocurrency exchange in the Middle East and North Africa ("MENA"). The transaction supports Paribu’s expansion into high‑growth MENA cryptocurrency markets and reflects CoinMENA’s role in advancing market standards across the region.
The Carey Olsen London corporate team acting as lead counsel to CoinMENA comprised partner Jasmine Amaria, senior associate Harry Hadjiyannis, associate George Ge, and paralegal Grace Chan.
Jasmine Amaria said: “It was a pleasure to act as lead counsel to our long-standing client CoinMENA on this milestone transaction, which highlights the company's strong market position and the growing prevalence of the Middle East as a hub for regulated digital asset activity. The team's commitment to compliance and innovation has raised the bar for the industry, and we are incredibly proud to have supported them on a deal of this scale and strategic importance."
Talal Tabbaa commented: "We've been working with Carey Olsen since the very beginning of setting up our BVI holding company, and they supported us end-to-end on this deal. Huge credit to Jasmine and her team — thoughtful, fast, and excellent to work with."
