Carey Olsen sponsors global STEP Conference in Bermuda

The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Bermuda International Conference has taken place on the island this week and was sponsored by Carey Olsen Bermuda Limited. The event brought together a global gathering of lawyers, accountants, trustees and other leading industry experts who advise on trust and private client matters. STEP enables trust and private wealth practitioners to set global standards for protecting and providing support for private clients and their families while making sure those standards are upheld internationally.

The event has returned after a two-year hiatus as a much-expanded international event with an impressive range of speakers and delegates. The conference was co-chaired by Vice Chairman of STEP Bermuda, Ashley Fife, counsel at Carey Olsen while Stephanie Bernard, also counsel at Carey Olsen, was a member of a panel that considered trustees investing in digital assets.

Keith Robinson, head of trusts and private wealth and partner at Carey Olsen, said: "It is fantastic that we have been able to bring so many practitioners from different countries to Bermuda this year to discuss the best advice that we, as members of STEP, can give to families navigating the current atmosphere of economic uncertainty. This event is a result of great effort and industry collaboration by the organisers who should be congratulated on securing such a prestigious line up of speakers "

Carey Olsen  co-sponsored the conference dinner at The Loren on Wednesday night which gave overseas speakers and delegates a taste of Bermuda in a beautiful location on Bermuda's south shore.

The Carey Olsen group has one of the largest trusts and private wealth teams in the offshore world. The firm is a finalist in two categories at the 2022/23 STEP Private Client Awards – International Legal Team of the Year and Private Client Legal Team of the Year.
