This year the event will look at what lessons have been learned by the private sector during the pandemic in relation to the decision making process of boards. In particular it will examine the complexity of operating a business in the current conditions and within an exponential rate of change, and how that impacts on the traditional business planning cycles.

The keynote speaker will be the managing director of Board Intelligence, Jonathan Knight, who will focus on insights from FTSE 100 boards and the intelligence they learned from the CEOs of FTSE-listed companies. Examples will include where boards have acted swiftly and successfully and how they responded when issues did arise.

This keynote speech will be followed by a panel debate, moderated by Fiona Le Poidevin. This will discuss how local businesses from a range of different sectors are pivoting their strategy, leadership and culture to not only survive, but also to thrive post-pandemic.
