Counsel Simon Florance will be speaking at GTA's Session Five of the Compliance CPD Sessions on 14th June 2022.

Simon will provide an update on 'The problems with AML Supervised Roles (Who wants to be an MLRO – part 2)' from 12:30 - 1:30pm.

The session will cover:

  • The evolution of Supervised Roles in Guernsey
  • Current statutory requirements for financial service businesses
  • The competing pressures on Supervised Roles
  • The regulator’s approach
  • Protections available

The changing nature of financial crime has led to the evolution of those monitoring financial crime within financial service businesses and the development of the Supervised Roles. Delegates will understand how these roles have evolved, statutory requirements for financial service businesses and how Supervised Roles are becoming increasingly important figures. The course will also examine the local regulatory approach.
