Andrea is a lawyer in Carey Olsen's Jersey investment funds practice with extensive industry experience, having worked both in private practice and in-house. She seeks to develop strong relationships and a deep understanding of her clients' needs in order to provide tailored, pragmatic advice and solutions to specialist asset managers and leading corporate and fund service providers.

During her time in-house, Andrea developed considerable expertise in a wide range of fund structuring, formation, administration and regulatory matters, with particular knowledge of private equity and real estate funds. She has a track record of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and demonstrating commitment to organisational aims, values and strategies.

Career

Having spent her early career with the firm (qualifying as a Jersey advocate in 2000), Andrea moved in-house where she spent 13 years with two of the leading European fund administration firms, heading up their in-house legal teams. During this time, she guided her internal clients through a raft of local and international legal and regulatory change.

She has held a number of regulated board positions, both in Jersey and the UK and has acted as compliance officer and money laundering reporting officer for a number of Jersey and UK financial services businesses, including several high profile regulated funds.

Andrea returned to Carey Olsen in 2019.

Nordic Capital: advising on their three most recent funds, including Nordic Capital Fund XI, which raised €9 billion in one of the largest and fastest private equity funds to be raised in Europe in 2022.
SoftBank: advising on Jersey regulatory, structuring and operational matters, including in relation to the world's largest fund, the SoftBank Vision Fund.

Lorton Entertainment: acting as lead counsel for the UK based film financing, production, sales and distribution group on its first two fund launches.
Corporate service providers: advising a number of leading corporate and fund service providers on a wide range of administration, operational and regulatory matters.
