International recognition for Carey Olsen’s funds team in the Cayman Islands

Carey Olsen has been awarded Investment Funds Law Firm of the Year in the Cayman Islands in the 2015 Corporate International Legal Awards.

Running since 2008, the awards are a result of in-depth independent research scrutinised by a panel in each jurisdiction. Winning firms are recognised for demonstrating excellence in terms of expertise and service levels over the course of the year.

Our Cayman Islands office opened in 2012 and is led by five partners. It has a strong corporate and investment funds service offering which, in 2013, expanded to include specialist teams providing trust and private client, insolvency and litigation advice.

The office has developed a strong client portfolio and is a recognised provider of corporate and legal services to domestic and international banks, commercial and financial clients as well as to international law firms.

Recent transactional work includes advising West Face Capital Inc. on the launch of its $600 million special situations fund and advising on the first retail debt listing on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange. We also advise a wide range of fund managers in the market and have received instructions from a global client base including China, Canada, Israel, the UK and the US.

Cayman Islands managing partner, Jarrod Farley, said: "The office continues to expand at an impressive pace with our team growing through significant senior promotions and hires. Awards like this help to consolidate our reputation as a global firm with cross-jurisidictional expertise delivering effective, responsive and commercially-led advice."

This award follows the office's recent success in the International Financial Law Review 1000 (IFLR1000) rankings where is was recognised for its growth and innovation.

Our Guernsey office was also successful in this year's Corporate International Legal Awards, winning Commercial Property Law Firm of the Year and Litigation Law Firm of the Year.
