Carey Olsen advise Paratus Energy on Marine Money's Offshore Norwegian Bond Deal of the Year

Carey Olsen acted as Bermuda counsel together with Schjødt as Norwegian legal advisors to Paratus Energy Services Limited ("Paratus") on the issuance of US$500 million in new five-year senior secured bonds with a 9.5% coupon rate, which won Marine Money's 'Offshore Norwegian Bond Deal of the Year' Award.

Marine Money has recognised the transaction as the "joint-largest unrated oil services related bond issuance in the Nordic market in the last 10 years", attracting significant interest from a broad global investor base. Marine Money has described the teams of bookrunners, financial advisers and Norwegian legal counsel involved in the deal, which included Carey Olsen, as "a talented team of experts flawlessly executing on a tried and true value proposition to deliver a successful solution for their customer".

The Carey Olsen Bermuda corporate team advising Paratus comprised partner Steven Rees Davies, counsel Alexander Collis, and associates Matthew Dulaney and Isabella Zuill-McKenzie, working alongside Norwegian law firm Schjødt.

Steven Rees Davies commented: "We are proud that Marine Money has recognised the significance of this transaction, which marked one of largest bond issuances in the Nordic bond market in recent years. Our role in the deal and the success of the bond issuance, which was significantly oversubscribed, is a testament to our team's strength in advising on large-scale and complex capital market transactions. We appreciated the opportunity to work with all of the other professional advisors and contribute towards such a successful transaction."
