Carey Olsen advises RoundShield on its majority stake sale to Harrison Street

Carey Olsen's investment funds team in Jersey has advised RoundShield Partners ("RoundShield") – a European asset-backed credit investment manager with US$5.4 billion in assets under management – on its majority stake sale to Harrison Street Asset Management ("Harrison Street"), the investment management division of Colliers.

RoundShield's management team and a third-party investor have sold 60% of the investment manager to Harrison Street. The remaining 40% ownership has been retained by RoundShield’s senior management team, who will continue to lead the business.

The partnership facilitates significant opportunities for collaboration for both firms, particularly in sectors such as student housing and hospitality, and expands Harrison Streets credit capabilities across Europe.

Headquartered in Jersey and with operations across several major European cities, RoundShield specialises in providing private capital solutions across real estate, infrastructure, hard asset, and financial asset markets. The firm manages capital on behalf of pension funds, endowments, foundations, and other institutional investors.

The Carey Olsen team, who have advised RoundShield on a number of successful fund launches, joint ventures and other Jersey structures, comprised Jersey investment funds partner Nienke Malan, associates Marco Carossa and Suzie Hamilton, and trainee Christopher Stride.

Nienke Malan commented: "We are pleased our longstanding client RoundShield on its majority stake sale to Harrison Street. This partnership brings together two market leaders with a shared vision for growth and innovation, marking a strategic milestone for both. We look forward to seeing RoundShield continue to grow and broaden its offering to investors."
