Carey Olsen adds to its Hong Kong SAR dispute resolution and insolvency team

Carey Olsen has further strengthened its dispute resolution and insolvency practice in Hong Kong SAR with the appointment of commercial litigator Dhanshuklal Vekaria.

Dhanshuklal joins Carey Olsen from another leading offshore firm, having qualified and worked in the UK with Pinsent Masons before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2016 where he practised Cayman Islands law. Since January 2018, he has also been admitted as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (BVI).

Dhanshuklal has a broad range of offshore and general commercial litigation experience, most recently advising and acting in relation to the liquidation and winding up of a number of offshore private corporates, trust and fund structures, as well as handling disputes in relation to private client trusts, fair valuation disputes, injunction and freezing orders and corporate restructuring disputes.

The Carey Olsen Hong Kong office opened in 2016 as part of the law firm's continued expansion of its network in Asia, which also includes a Singapore office. The Hong Kong office focuses on the full spectrum of contentious, semi-contentious and offshore advisory work. This includes domestic and international restructuring and insolvency, corporate and commercial disputes, banking and financial services litigation, trusts litigation as well as fraud, asset tracing and regulatory disputes.
