Seven "Band One" rankings for Carey Olsen in Chambers UK 2019
Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has achieved top tier rankings in seven of its Channel Islands practice areas in the 2019 edition of independent legal directory Chambers UK.
The firm's Jersey investment funds team has been elevated to Band One status, reflecting Carey Olsen's position as the leading legal adviser to Channel Islands funds. Recent work for the Jersey team includes advising the c$100 billion Softbank Vision fund (the world's largest ever investment fund), and several fintech matters such as advising on the launch of both the world's first regulated crypto-denominated fund and Jersey's first Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
The Guernsey corporate and finance team maintained its established position as the only Band One firm in the island for corporate and finance, including investment funds advice. The news follows the recent publication of Monterey Insight, which positioned Carey Olsen as the top adviser for investment funds in Guernsey having advised on 70% of all new investment funds business between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018.
Carey Olsen was also ranked in Band One for corporate and finance, employment and dispute resolution in Jersey, and for trusts and property in Guernsey.
A total of 32 Carey Olsen lawyers are also recognised in the guide, including 24 of the firm's partners who are listed as Leading Individuals.
